Aura Borealis B & B is located 4.5 miles south of the junction of the Glenn Highway and the Richardson Highway in Glennallen, Alaska.
A tiny village on the banks of the Tazlina River in the Great Copper Valley of Alaska situated between Glennallen and Copper Center.
The B&B is located on Cheshnina Road. Here’s how you find it:
Coming from the Glenn and Richardson Highway Junction in Glennallen:
Go south on the Richardson Highway towards Valdez 4.5 miles and at approximately Mile 110.3 of the Richardson Highway, you will see a road to your left with a street sign called Cheshnina Road. TURN LEFT.
The road immediately curves to the right, running parallel to the Highway. As the road curves to the left, the B&B driveway is on the RIGHT. The driveway loops so if you miss the first right, you can enter at the second right.
There are two entrances into the B&B:
1. Up the front brown wooden stairs
2. The door to the right of the main garage doors.
There is a doorbell on both doors in case they are not unlocked.
From the B&B to Glennallen:
Turn right on the Richardson Highway driving North 4.5 miles then turn left to go into Glennallen by way of the Glenn Highway.
From the B&B to Valdez:
Turn left and head South on the Richardson Highway 117 miles and you will reach Valdez.
From the B&B to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Chitina, McCarthy, and Kennicott Copper Mine:
Turn left and head South on the Richardson Highway about 4 miles and you will come to the Wrangell – St. Elias National Park Visitor Center.
Continuing South on the Richardson Highway, take the left turn for the Edgerton Highway, heading East, and your destination becomes Chitina, McCarthy and the Kennicott Copper Mine.
From the B & B to Delta Junction and Fairbanks:
If you wish to travel to Delta Junction or Fairbanks, you will take the Richardson Highway North. Drive 155 miles North to reach Delta Junction and then head West 82 miles to visit the Santa Claus House in North Pole, AK. Drive 15 more miles West and you will arrive in Fairbanks.
From the B & B to Tok and the Alaska Highway to Canada:
Drive North on the Richardson Highway 21 miles then turn East onto the Tok Cutoff and 117 miles later you will be in Tok. The Al-Can Highway runs East/West through Tok, head East 90 miles on it and you will reach the American/Canadian Border.
From the B & B to Palmer and Wasilla:
Drive to Glennallen 4.5 miles North on the Richardson Highway then head West 137 miles on the Glenn Highway and you will come to the Mat-Su Valley where you will find Palmer and Wasilla.
From the B & B to Anchorage and the Kenai Peninsula; Seward, Soldotna, Kenai Homer:
Drive to Glennallen 4.5 miles North on the Richardson Highway then head West 137 miles on the Glenn Highway. Head South out of Palmer, down the Glenn Highway 43 miles, to go to Anchorage. Fro,m Anchorage, you will head South on the New Seward Highway which leads to Seward (127 miles from Anchorage), and the Kenai Peninsula where you will find Soldotna, (145 miles from Anchorage), Kenai, (156 miles from Anchorage), and Homer the End of the Road, (224 miles from Anchorage).
